Why general AI courses fall short at work

General AI courses teach the basics well: what AI is, how to write a prompt, how to draft an email. Most are built around office work and writing.

They rarely cover what your people face in their own jobs: when to trust an answer and when to check it, what must never go into a public tool, how AI fits the procedures and safety rules you already have, and the doubts people bring to a new tool.

What custom AI training is

Custom AI training is AI education built around your organization: your industry's examples, the AI tools you use or allow, your policies and the decisions your people make. Our custom learning team plans it, builds it and delivers it into the LMS you already use.

It can work alongside AI courses you already license and add the context they leave out, or it can stand on its own.

What a program can include

  • A curriculum plan that starts from the AI courses you already have and fills the gaps for your roles.
  • Short courses built from examples in your own work.

How a program works

  1. We review what you have

    We look at the AI courses you already license, your policies and examples from your work, and we interview the people who know the job. You see what those courses cover and what they leave out for your roles.

  2. We plan the curriculum

    You get a plan that says which courses to build, for whom, and what each adds to what your people already have. It can include a plain-language introduction for people starting from zero, short refreshers and job aids.

  3. You approve each course's design

    You review each course's script and design before we build it, and check that it uses your examples, your AI tools and your policies the way your people should.

  4. We build and deliver

    We build the courses for phones and desktops, to WCAG AA and in Spanish or other languages if you need them. We deliver them into your LMS as SCORM, with your review at each stage.

  5. We keep them current

    AI tools change quickly, and we update the courses so they stay accurate. As with every course we build, we also re-test them each year in current browsers and re-publish them with the latest authoring software.

An example of one of our AI training programs

For a US manufacturing workforce organization, we designed an AI curriculum for apprentices and early-career technicians. It adds to the general AI courses the learners already take and shows how AI applies on the shop floor, with safety first and practice in checking what AI gives you before acting on it.

Our review of those courses and interviews with people who do the work shaped a curriculum of six courses of about an hour each. When early reviewers found the first course too advanced for the shop floor, we added a plain-language introduction ahead of it.

The courses are built for phones first and delivered as SCORM into the organization's LMS, in English and Spanish and to WCAG AA.

Some government programs in the United States and Canada pay part of what employers spend on staff training, and a few name digital or technology skills. Our training funding page lists the ones whose rules allow an outside provider to be paid, with a link to each official page.
