    People buy a course or a subscription online and are enrolled in SmarterU the moment they pay. Each customer, chapter or partner can have its own branded space.

  3. Learn on any device

    Learning plans hold online courses, classroom sessions and outside activities together. People train on a phone, a tablet or a desktop.

  4. Keep it in memory

    Two-minute daily sessions keep high-stakes knowledge fresh between courses and renewals, and show who has mastered what. The sessions are separate from the LMS that delivers the course.

  5. Certify and renew

    Each person's licenses and continuing education credits are tracked. People are re-enrolled before a certification expires. Every certificate carries a QR code that anyone can scan to validate it.

  6. Answer the questions people outside your organization ask

    Members, franchisees and partners get answers from material you approve, with the source of each answer shown. You choose what the answers draw on, such as standards, guides and course content.

FAQ

Can we start small?

Yes. You can start with a single course for the LMS you already use, or a platform for courses you already have, and add more later.

Will it work with the systems we already have?

Yes. We build in any authoring tool and deliver courses into whatever LMS you use, as SCORM, xAPI or cmi5, and handle the integration, including your association management system.

You own the courses and their source files. If you move to SmarterU, it connects to CRM and other systems, supports single sign-on, and can migrate your data from a previous LMS.

Can we sell courses, including to non-members?

Yes. SmarterU sells courses and subscriptions through Shopify, WooCommerce or PayPal and enrolls people when they pay. Selling to non-members is usually the better lever, since a higher non-member price earns revenue and recruits members at the same time.

Canada Soccer's education revenue grew from $60,000 in 2020 to $500,000 in 2023 on a program built this way.

What does it cost?

A custom course is quoted on what it takes to build: how organized your source content is, how deeply people need to learn it, and how far the interactivity and media go. Content that is ready for a clean build can often be done at a fixed price per course.

Your budget buys production capacity rather than a locked scope, so if the plan changes halfway through, the new plan comes out of the same budget, with no change orders. Our platforms are priced separately.

How long until we launch?

A custom course usually takes six to twenty weeks from kickoff to launch, and multi-course programs take longer. We build the schedule backward from the date you need it. Content that is ready for a clean build can go to Custom eLearning Express, which finishes a course in ten business days.

How will we know the program is working?

From the reports your LMS already keeps. In SmarterU, reports cover enrollments, learning plans, attendance and quiz results, and can go by email to anyone on a schedule. OttoLearn shows each person's mastery of every topic.

Is accessibility included?

Yes. Every course ships to WCAG AA, with contrast, captions, transcripts, keyboard navigation and screen reader support, and the review log comes with the delivery.
