Custom eLearning development, from first interview to launch

Neovation Custom Learning designs and builds custom eLearning, certification programs and blended training. Instructional designers, writers, digital designers, video and animation producers, project managers and quality assurance analysts work as one team, from the interviews with your experts to the finished course in your LMS.

We build in the authoring tool you use, most often Articulate Storyline or Rise, and deliver SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI, cmi5, or HTML packages with the source files. Courses are built to WCAG AA and can ship in more than one language. The work ranges from a single course to multi-course programs.

What clients ask us to build

We build training that has to be right, at a scale a small education team can't produce on its own. A large share of the work is modernization: training that has gone out of date, drifted off-brand, or was built for a classroom and now has to work online.

  • Certification and recertification

Programs an organization requires or sells, with the assessments behind them

  • Compliance and safety

Training that holds up when a regulator or auditor checks it

  • Onboarding

Programs that create a clear path and get new people productive quickly

  • Product, software and sales training

Courses built around the systems and decisions your people work with

  • Leadership development

Programs for the people who lead teams

  • Modernization

Older courses rebuilt for current tools, your brand, accessibility requirements and online delivery

Why teams work with us

  • Our own team does the work

Instructional designers, writers, digital designers, video and animation producers, narrators and quality assurance analysts work in-house at Neovation, and nothing is subcontracted.

  • You deal with one project manager

A named project manager is your single point of contact from kickoff to launch.

  • Changes don't need change orders

Your budget is set in project points, which you can move between tasks as the project changes.

  • Two review rounds come with every course

One major and one minor round at storyboard, then again at build.

  • It fits the tools you have

We build in the authoring tool you use and deliver into whatever LMS you use.

  • Accessibility is part of the build

Every course is built to WCAG AA, with the review log delivered alongside it.

Results our clients have measured

This initiative was a huge success! Neovation's quick turnaround was amazing, and they did an excellent job pivoting and staying flexible.

How we work

FAQ

What does a custom course cost?

Every engagement is quoted. What sets the number is how complete and organized your content already is, how deeply learners need to understand it, and how far the interactivity and media need to go. The pricing page explains project points.

How long until we can launch?

A custom course usually takes six to twenty weeks from kickoff to launch, and multi-course programs take longer. We build the schedule backward from the date you need it.

How much of our team's time will it take?

Plan on two or three sessions of 60 to 90 minutes with your subject matter experts, plus review time at the storyboard and build stages. For one course, that usually adds up to 10 to 20 hours across the project.

Do we have to move to your platform?

No. We build in the authoring tool you use, most often Articulate Storyline or Rise, and deliver into whatever LMS you use. We can also handle the integration, including an association management system if you have one.

Who actually builds our courses?

The people you meet. Instructional designers, eLearning developers, video producers, graphic designers and quality assurance analysts all work in-house at Neovation, and nothing is subcontracted.

Do we own the course when it's finished?

You do, including the source files.

Can courses be in more than one language?

Yes. We translate and localize the text, narration and subtitles.

How can we help with your custom eLearning?

Tell us what you're working on and we'll suggest where to start. We reply within three business hours.
